Oh, what comfort we have in Christ Jesus our Lord whenever we fully realize what He has done to restore peace in the midst of loss! By the blood of Jesus Christ, there is hope beyond the grave! So the grieving of loss is but temporary for those who are awaiting the return of the Lord in the expectancy of the resurrection in the right standing with God. So the sorrow felt is not to be in distress as if there would never be a reuniting day ahead; but instead, a cele- bration of life together will take place in rejoicing forevermore in the presence of Jesus Who in God’s plan made it all possible. It is commanded by the LORD not to gash or mar oneself because of the deceased. No such practice is appro- priate in the trueness of God’s Word in the agreement of the genuine faith we are to have in the promises of God. By believing in the Resurrection of Jesus Christ, we attest to the fact that those in Him who have died are merely asleep in body but alive in Jesus, and will be raised imperishable at His Second Coming in understanding the rapture of meeting the Lord in the air. We will together be gathered in His presence in the beauty of His holiness in the clouds of glory to forever behold the very One Who gave us life. So with much serious thought, we must give attention to our soul conditon before Him in the grace He has offered. It must be considered vital to allow His Word to prevail over any doubt that bombards at such times as the longing to desire to leave this present life sooner than God would have for us. We should hold dear the truth of God’s Word in the authority of His power that He alone defeats death in the victory of Jesus! There needs to be strong belief in the Resurrection of Jesus Christ, for it is certainly true to the preaching of His promises in the life He gave and the credence to hold in victory that in Him “…shall all be made alive.” (see 1 Corinthians 15:22) Everything in this earthly life pales in com- parison to the glory that awaits the child of God.! God never changes, and He is always true to His Word! He renews lives by His loving mercy extended beyond what we deserve. Look to Him in your need, for He judges righteously! He deals with the unjust and settles the matter in His time! Please take time to watch and listen attentively to “All Shall Awake”. LaNora G. Means
