The prominence of a place in a location that brings attention is one in which is obvious to stand out in appearance. Actually, in a manner of determining by our senses, this may be either good or bad. Naturally, if what reveals destruction is evil according to God, how much more His judgment is true to those who do not accept to see what the truth before them shines clear and hear with what is clearly stated. So, what is truly shined out in the light of truth that reveals real purpose in Jesus? The answer to that is as clear as what God gave us in Jesus that disclosed what He would do to remedy the dark areas in order that we may see more clearly what lies ahead of us. If we understand appearance as an outward aspect of something, we would be looking at it with our sight to see. Then how much more do we hear with an understanding that enlightens our awareness? Jesus plainly told us in His Word that He is “…the light of the world…”. If we see Him by what He told us, we understand Him to be the Life we are to look forward to with Him in eternity; and, if we hear Him with the attention drawn to what He says, we will follow Him (as He is the Light that shows the way clearly). It then would make sense that the light that shines within brings an awareness of His Word in conviction of heart to expose every right and wrong in conduct of each deed and action taken. If the light claimed to have within is healthy, what is exposed as wrong will be brought to light by the Holy Spirit Who brings the awareness (to the life of one following the way of Jesus) to repent and turn away from the wrong and let Jesus lead by the light He shined to see to do the right. So healthiness is a full capacity of light shined to make the difference of what Christ Jesus in His love has done already in our lives by His grace and the mercy we have accepted presently, with the favor of His glory to come in the future comsummation of His blessings that His Kingdom bestows. We must therefore not neglect to turn to God in the faith and believing of His Word with an attentive ear and brightened sight to shine forth the love of Jesus in the light of His Word to us, radiating His goodness in the truth of His work with honesty and integrity befitting to His example that others may see the truth of His light in order to be saved from destruction and healed from the damage that the darkness in sin caused. Watch “Is Your Light Shining?” and see for yourself what Jesus has done. LaNora G. Means
